It is that time of year again. Please pay your 2023 dues.
Check the outside of your printed Chatter. A slip of paper stapled outside the cover indicates that, according to our records, you have not paid your dues for 2023. Please mail the dues to the address on that slip, or use one of the other methods detailed on that slip. For members who are notified by email when a new Chatter issue is available, the email stated if you have not paid your dues for 2023.
Members who do not pay by March 31, 2023 will be dropped.
The 1246th meeting of the Chicago Coin Club was called to order by President Lyle Daly at 6:45 PM CST, Wednesday November 9, 2022. This was a hybrid in-person and online meeting. Attendance at the meeting was 19 in person and 13 online, for a total of 32.
Club Meeting Minutes and Treasurer’s Report
The October 2022 meeting minutes were approved as published in the Chatter, both in print and on the CCC website.
Treasurer Elliott Krieter submitted the treasurer’s report for both the September and October periods. September period income of $8,270.00 (ANA stipend, Dues, Banquet), expenses of $8,936.52 (ANA expenses, Joint dinner expense, Chatter expense) for a period total of -$666.52. October period income $595.00 (Dues, Banquet), and expenses of $118.00 (Chatter expense, Engravings) for a net gain of $477.00.
Guests and New Members
One guest was announced, Tyler M. Rossi, who also applied for club membership. The second reading for new member applicant, and Young Numismatist, Adhitri Seth was read and the Club approved her membership. A first reading was completed for Tyler M. Rossi, who collects ancient and pre-modern world coins.
There was no new business brought before the club.
There was no show and tell at this meeting due to the annual auction being the Featured Program.
The next meeting will be on December 14, 2022, at 6:00pm CST, and will be the annual club banquet taking place at Coopers Hawk Restaurant in Arlington Heights, Illinois. There will be no online component of the meeting.
Lyle Daly adjourned the meeting at 8:07pm CST.

The meeting was called to order by club President Lyle Daly at 6:02pm.
Board members present for the meeting were Lyle Daly, Melissa Gumm, Elliott Krieter, Scott McGowan, Paul Hybert, Mark Wieclaw, Steve Zitowsky, Carl Wolf, Deven Kane, Bill Burd, John Riley, and Rich Lipman. Absent was Jeff Rosinia.
Next CCC Board Meeting February 15, 2023 at 6:00pm CST; online versus in-person to be determined.
President Lyle Daly adjourned the meeting at 7:43pm.

reservations are required.
Our group will be meeting in their Barrel Room, which can
accommodate 80 people.
There will be a private cash bar in the room for those wanting
an alcoholic beverage.

• Our dinner will start off with a Crab & Lobster Bisque soup, followed by a Caesar Salad.

• Dessert choices are Salted Caramel Crème Brûlée and Key Lime pie.

The speaker is Mark Borckardt, on Handling Million Dollar Rarities: Another Day at the Office.
In a 33-year numismatic auctions career, and in his 42nd year as a full-time professional numismatist, Chicago Coin Club member Mark Borckardt has handled many of the most fabled rarities of our time. A life-long collector, Mark will share many adventures (and the occasional mis-adventure!) involving the highest end of numismatics and the not-so-high end. As the popular insurance commercial goes, Mark “has seen a thing or two” in the coin business!
